YouTube Challenges

YouTube is one of my weaknesses. I love making videos and I love sharing them with people. The issue is that I’m a perfectionist. I hold onto my videos for so long, attempting to make them perfect. But I know that “perfect” doesn’t really exist. Instead, there’s just “this is good for right now”. It’s a little on the frustrating side but I’m starting to let that concept sink in so that I stop hampering myself when I need to put content up on YouTube.

Speaking of that, I’ve started recording the voice overs for my videos and I’m excited to start doing the editing on the visuals soon. To ensure that I can keep recording in the most comfortable way and make sure there are as few hurdles to overcome as possible, I’ll either be using my VTuber model to add that personal appearance touch or I won’t have any “human” on the video at all. This was a tough decision to arrive at so I wanted to share with you why I’ve chosen to go this route.

It’s all about making it as easy as possible for me to produce the content that I’ve always wanted to produce and that thousands of people have told me that they want to see. If I have to wake up early, set up a small area to record, deal with random noises that interrupt, put on make-up, find wardrobe that I feel good in, and then record on top of all of that, it’s never going to get done. So, I would much rather finish content than attempt to make every single little thing go perfectly. I simply do not have the resources or patience to make any of that happen on a daily or even weekly basis if I’m also going to be producing web comics, art, wearables, Twitch streams, and so on while also actually having a life.

I really think that you’ll still love the content, without my actual face being seen. Honestly, me being in the video doesn’t add anything to the content. In fact, I feel like it could detract. I’m not doing these videos to make them about myself or for myself. I’m doing them to help others learn. I want to make sure each video and each series is designed to maximize their potential in helping others. And, the best way I can do that is to get myself and as many hurdles as possible out of the way!

I hope you’ll look forward to the content I’ll be sharing on YouTube. Videos will start going live in May. Tentatively, I plan to schedule them on Wednesdays to help you get through a midweek slump. But that’s also when I’d like Punni Pengi to go live. So I’m not sure I like them both being on the same day so I may change it.

Thank you again for supporting me! I hope you’ll look forward to the new content!
