Original Manga
Jade has been writing, illustrating, and publishing her original manga series, Game Over since 2012 and has sold over 1,000 copies personally at conventions. Bursting with action, adventure, and parody, Game Over is a fun romp through video games, table top gaming, and anime genres and tropes. The Anthology contains over 500 pages of content encompassing five of the seven released books. Game Over is perfect for all ages and puts a fresh twist on the “transported to another world” genre.
Summary:
Meet Tristan. Part-time student, full-time gamer. Tristan’s living every gamer’s dream: every time he takes a test in school, he is virtually transported to a video game realm where, if he beats the game, he passes the test!
In his adventures to make good grades and play as many games as possible, Tristan is joined by the Game Master of the virtual game world, Console as well as whimsical party members Mr. Adventure who believes that every creature is a dragon and bubbly CoCo, who seems to know more than she lets on. Together, Mr. Adventure and CoCo help Tristan traverse the game worlds while Console offers Tristan valuable advice and guidance.
Tristan couldn’t be happier! He bests one world after another and he’s no longer in danger of flunking out. Unfortunately, his childhood friend Kyoko and her friend Sage have taken note of Tristan’s unusual habits and unlikely successes. When they are all assigned to do a project together, Kyoko and Sage find themselves alongside Tristan, Mr. Adventure, and CoCo in the middle of the zombie apocalypse where they must fight their way through hoards of zombies in search of safety.
Unhappy with this turn of events, Kyoko confronts Tristan and is outraged that he stood her up to play games and cheat at the same time! She and Sage question Tristan about Console, the game world, and his in-game companions but Tristan has no answers to offer and, instead, finds himself having to fight his friends inside the game world as the squad begins to unravel the mysteries and horrors of Console, Mr. Adventure, and the game world.

Charming and bubbly CoCo dances with her bow and arrow, ready to uplift her party with her bardic idol charisma!
Completely fearless, Tristan stands ready to build 3D assets in the game world to work to his advantage in this new spin on the “engineer” class.
Sage, the soccer star of Tristan’s school, is ready to “kick” some butt in the game world! His gaming style requires both intellect, agility, and power, making him a triple threat.
Kyoko is all decked out in her True Mage form and ready to use her intellect to best her opponents. Although, she’s upset that bikini armor is the best gear for her class.

Jade spent 2020 - 2022 transitioning from fan art to original art. Jade
Writer & Illustrator
Jade is the owner of Otter Mage Designs, formerly Bento Studios. She has owned and operated her small art business since 2007 and has exhibited at some of the largest conventions in the country including Anime Expo in 2022, where she was one of just 742 juried artists selected to exhibit at the Los Angeles 4-day event with over 150,000 attendees. Anime Expo is the second largest anime and manga convention in the world, behind Anime Japan, located in Tokyo. Jade is hoping to return to Anime Expo in 2023 and plans to make cross-continental and international events a regular part of her convention appearance schedule.
As a prominant artist in the southeastern U.S., Jade has also been juried in by other convention giants including MomoCon, Anime Matsuri, Tampa Bay Comic Con, A-Kon, and Megacon.
Jade and her cat, Taiga, currently live in Jacksonville, Florida.
Since 2009, Jade has been writing and illustrating Game Over, her original manga series. In 2012, Jade debuted Game Over at Megacon and has continued releasing new issues on a bi-yearly basis. There are currently seven issues (600+ pages!) of Game Over available and an eighth on the way.
Jade has been a guest at many conventions and events throughout the Southern U.S. including the Daytona Beach Comic Con and North Florida Comic Con as well as a featured indie manga artist at Colosseum of Comics in Orlando, Florida and the Jacksonville Public Library’s Free Comic Book Day events. She was also a member of the Island Art Association on Amelia Island and placed in several of their Art Nouveau shows for her Avant Guard style depictions of bugs and animals. Currently, Jade is a member of the St. Augustine Art Association. Her ramen print and Mt. Fuji print was recently juried and selected for exhibit during two shows at their St. Augustine gallery.
Because she has become so familiar with the self-publishing world and selling her art at conventions, Jade is frequently a featured panelist at conventions like MomoCon, Tampa Bay Comic Con, and Anime Matsuri where she distills her knowledge and passion for self-publishing and selling art in the artist alley. Her panels are always well attended and, at Tampa Bay Comic Con, there was standing room only in a room that accommodated 200 attendees.
In 2015, Jade became affiliated on Twitch, where she streams art, and currently has over 560 followers. She draws art live while using a VTuber model that she designed and rigged.
Because COVID shut down conventions for two years, Jade took that opportunity to further develop her ideas for two new web comics, and to complete her Associates in Arts with a focus on Business Administration and to begin rebranding her business to Otter Mage Designs to capture a wider demographic. As a part of her initiative to better herself and her business, Jade applied to and was one of only 64 students admitted to the University of Florida’s online business school in spring 2022 where she is currently finishing her Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a minor in Mass Communications and Social Media Management and Marketing. Jade plans to finish her Bachelor’s in 2025 and then pursue a Masters in IMC (Integrated Mass Communications) Marketing Analytics.
Jade is excited to be starting on a new trajectory post-COVID by partnering with local businesses such as Mythical Mountain Comics to display and sell her work. In January 2022, Jade was accepted into the juried Riverside Arts Market and Jacksonville’s First Wednesday Art Walks, bringing a fresh genre of art to Riverside and Downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
In 2022, Jade is returned to the convention scene with a booth powered by 100% original art and designs, eight books in her Game Over series, and piles of fun art celebrating anime, Japanese culture, and games until fall 2023, when she decided to retire from the convention scene to pursue other creative works. Jade still maintains a presence online through Discord, social media accounts, and website, creating new products between semesters until she finishes her degree in August 2025.
