The Hardest-Studying Anime Characters: When You Gotta Grind

Some anime characters train their bodies, some train their minds, and some do both.  But when it comes to pure study grind, a few stand out as absolute legends. As I battle through Business Finance, I can’t help but wish I had a fraction of their intellect and persistence.

1. Kintaro Oe (Golden Boy)

A self-proclaimed “student of life,” Kintaro Oe travels from place to place, taking on odd jobs, and learning everything he can along the way. The grind never stops.

2. Maka Albarn (Soul Eater)

Maka’s book smarts are matched only by her determination. She doesn’t back down from a challenge, whether it's fighting evil or acing a test. If only I could Maka-Chop my finance professor...

3. Miyuki Shirogane (Kaguya-sama: Love is War)

This guy is the definition of “grind.” Barely sleeps, studies constantly, and still manages to be student council president and wage a love war with Kaguya. I respect the hustle. But my under-eye bags are starting to match his. I’m going through too much concealer for this!!

4. Rin Okumura (Blue Exorcist)

Dude started from zero and had to grind his way up while dealing with a lot. Studying exorcism while juggling an identity crisis? Respect. If he can push through, so can I… probably.

Meanwhile, I feel like Anya from Spy x Family. Don't mind me. I'm just staring at my finance notes like they’re ancient runes and hoping I can read my professor’s mind before the exam.
